I don't think they are arachnid, but I'd always see these "water spiders" that would stick to the surface of the water and move really fast. I'd mainly see them during the summer. What are these??

There is some species of spiders that are capable of crawling on the water surface. However you may be referring to water striders, Gerridae.

Yes, although they might be able to give a painful bite like other water bugs.

Ok, I was wrong, they eat insects, water insects and land insects that fall into the water. They're also sea skaters that are the only insects that live on the ocean and they eat plankton (not phytoplankton as all of them a predators) and fish eggs.
