Hi, does anyone know what species of moth this is. It was snowing when i found it. I assume it just hatched from an egg recently before it got so cold here. Can I keep it and will it begin to eat now that it is in the warm house and grow in size? I as well have to know what species it is so I know if I have the resources to feed it since everything will be covered with snow soon, Currently it has some nice green dandelion leaves, grass, and clover. Very Happy

Pretty small T.C. I would think it is a giant Leopard moth in it's early stages though. I don't think the red stripes would show until it is in it's later stages?

I agree. They overwinter as caterpillars so it should live. They do eat dandelion so keep that in with it. How big is it?

Hi, about's a little over quarter of an inch. It has grown some since I got it too, which I included in the measurements there. Wink
