This is a thread dedicated to all the invertebrate species that are classified as pests
(officially or unofficially) that are harmless beneficial or just shouldn't be listed as pests for other reason. Here is a link to start this off.

http://www.orkin.com/other/

I find it sad that so many harmless invertebrates are killed by people who don even bother to find out if they are dangerous.

Also some on the list are real pests but you can easily tell them out from the rest.

Well, often things are classified as pests when they do any damage or are common visitors in the home. Like I love to keep carpenter ants... however they tunnel through wooden objects in peoples houses so people consider them a pest.

I agree some are real pest. Some people will kill anything that crawls. The best pest option you have is to try to keep them out of your home because you can`t really get rid of them.
I found it unusual fire ants were not listed since they cause millions of dollars in damage, not counting doctor visits. The city, several miles from me sprays for anything that crawls, but they have thousands and thousands of old tires with water in them piled up everywhere that breed mosquito`s.

But what damage do dragonflies and centipedes do? They eat REAL pests like flies, mosquitoes and spiders.

I also find it ironic that in http://www.orkin.com/other/moths/ they say moths destroy silk when silk comes from mother in the first place. ALSO 99% of the moths they kill will just have flown from outside because of a light and are completely harmless.

To be fair, read the dragonfly entry:
http://www.orkin.com/other/dragonflies/

I think it isn't so much a list of pests as just a page for people to identify insects and determine if they're pests.

Also, the moth entry (along with many others) acknowledges that most moths are harmless and usually just wander into houses accidentally.

I know but for the moths they could at lest put in an identification chart and for the dragonflies they could just make a section called Beneficial insects or harmless insects to educate people on insects NOT to kill because for someone just looking at a list of pests and finding dragonflies on there they will most likely not bother to read about them and go off to there backyard and kill 300 or so dragonflies along with 50 butterflies 5 ant colonies and hundreds of isopods all caught in the spray. Here is a post like this I found on formiculture that is exactly my opinion on this
