Termites are disliked but they serve a vital role in destroying wood. I mean, not all wood is in people's homes. Anyway, exactly how many termites are there in proportion to all the old dead logs in existence?

Termites aren't just found in wood. They can be found in soil and other types of mounds they build depending on the species.
