I hate these especially ones that fly. I remember one time I was sitting at home and I seen and got complety grossed out. I read somewhere that these usually come when is humid and hot anyway. ever had an encounter with one

They are cool to observe in my tanks, but bites are painful. Comparable to the sting of a bee I would say.

I have never been bitten by one thank god. Anytime I see one I am quick to kill it lol

Around here, during the summer... they swarm by the hundreds underneath lights at night. They can't really crawl, so they just flop around on the ground. I have a few biting experiences from catching fish in a pond with a net. The beetles are in there and once you stick your hand in to get the fish, they bite you and it hurts terrible.
