The assassin bug, family Reduviidae.
A last nights catch under some lights. I was stabbed by one of these a few years ago and I hope not again.

Very cool, I love examining "up close" pictures. Keep these pictures coming. Wink

For some reason I am having big problems uploading photo`s, which I have not had in other places. I assume the problem is isolated to this system since no one else has any problems I guess. I have only seen the green loading bar one time since I joined.
After one hour and clicking the mouse the picture finally shows up as doubles and should have been one photo. I had a person that uses an office computer 5 days a week try it from this machine and she could not sent a photo either.
Any ideas?

I edited it for you so there is only one picture know. Also, you are trying to upload them from the your computer files correct?

When you click on Host an image and select a file from your computer... be sure you hit the button where it shows the Upload to symbol in a blue box. It should show that green bar you speak of showing it is uploading. Then when you hit "send to" The two images showing up is most likely from it being twice and didn't appear the first time.

OK, I don`t see a upload button in blue, all I see is drop your files here, or select files in green, and a URL in blue.
Then at the bottom of this it says send all in blue, and a remove all in orange.

Sorry you are having so many problems, here is a step by step example on how to do it. However you should consider using imgur, it makes things so much easier.

Introduce My Assassin Bug Mt0Cc1S
First hit the button "select files" and then it will ask you which pictures you want to upload.

Introduce My Assassin Bug EzF7KKB
Then once you have chosen the picture you want, the above image will come up. You then need to hit the blue button that has the send to symbol.

Introduce My Assassin Bug FAewoya
Once you hit that it will begin uploading.

Introduce My Assassin Bug Z9OQvgy
It will then take you to this page, then just hit insert all.

Oh well, can`t get the green load bar to work, may just be the computer, 3 people in all were never able to make it work.
Looks like the same stuff on my screen also.
Thanks,,

Could it be because you did not hit the upload button?

I think I was looking for a button that physically says upload.
With this photo I doubled the magnification for the assassin bug.

Yeah, I see why getting stabbed by one of these would hurt with this up close pictures.

Going back to the image upload that worked, sometimes the photo will not upload to send, and when going through the exact procedure that works sometimes.
Does your forum program except windows XP ?. Was said a while back that XP would eventually not work properly for many programs.

This is the same species as our live pet assassin, Arilus cristatus. The silver color comes from those fine hairs you can see in the second magnification you have posted. There are very few scientific bite reports, but many descriptions from people that can be found on insect ID sites where people are asking what kind of bug it is.

If you look at my post in bug journals, you can see this insect alive. You might find that interesting. Our alive specimen is female, we also have a dead male (which has turned black Sad ) I was hoping to pin the two, but I fear the male specimen is ruined.

A little better view of the crest; sort of reminds me of Prehistoric.

I just love the up close pictures. It's a side of insects you don't see when you are just observing them with plain eye sight.
